Scuba Diving in Cozumel: Which Experience Is Right for You?

Certified diver, first-timer, mixed group or future Open Water student? Use this guide to choose the TATICH OCEAN experience in Cozumel that fits your people.

Cozumel can mean very different days on the water depending on who is traveling with you. You might already be certified and want two proper reef dives. You might be curious about scuba but have never breathed underwater. Or you might be traveling with a group where one person dives, another snorkels and someone else would rather stay on the boat and enjoy the sea.

The useful question is not simply “Which dive should I book?” It is what kind of day fits the people I am with?

Start with your people, not the product

At TATICH OCEAN, the experiences are organized around who is coming with you and how each person wants to experience the sea. That makes the decision simpler: certified diving, first-time diving, training, an evening underwater, or a private mixed sea day.

If you are already certified: DIVE IN

DIVE IN is for certified divers who came to Cozumel to get underwater. The core option is THE COZ TWO TANK: two boat dives with full equipment, tanks, the Marine Park bracelet, water, a sandwich and fresh fruit included.

If you want a different side of the reef, TWILIGHT + NIGHT combines one dive in the last light of the day with a second dive after dark.

If it is your first time underwater: TRY DIVE

You do not need a certification to find out what scuba feels like. DISCOVER SCUBA is built for first-time divers, with no previous scuba experience required.

TATICH keeps the experience personal: a maximum of two guests per instructor, with full equipment included. The point is not to rush you through a checklist. It is to make the first experience clear enough that you can actually pay attention to the feeling of being underwater.

If your group wants different things: SEA YOUR WAY

This is where a conventional dive trip often stops fitting the group. One person is certified. Another wants to try scuba. Someone else wants to snorkel. And another person simply wants the boat, the sun and the sea.

SEA YOUR WAY is designed specifically for that situation. It is a private Cozumel sea day built around the crew rather than forcing the crew into one activity.

The base private two-tank sea day starts at 11,999 MXN and includes up to eight air tanks. El Cielo is included whenever sea conditions and the route make it possible, without a separate El Cielo charge. If the group includes Discover Scuba participants or requires additional staff, the final setup is confirmed personally before booking.

For families, couples and groups of friends with different comfort levels in the water, this is often the simplest way to keep the day together.

If you want to learn properly: THE PRO WAY

If the goal is not just to try scuba but to become a diver, start with OPEN WATER. The course combines e-learning with four boat dives over two days in Cozumel.

The distinction matters: Discover Scuba is an experience for a first taste of diving; Open Water is the beginning of formal diver training.

If you want to see the reef after dark

The reef changes as daylight disappears. TWILIGHT + NIGHT gives certified divers both sides of that transition in one evening: one dive at twilight and one at night.

What is included?

  • THE COZ TWO TANK: two boat dives, full equipment, tanks, Marine Park bracelet, water, sandwich and fresh fruit.
  • DISCOVER SCUBA: first-time diving with a maximum of two guests per instructor and full equipment included.
  • SEA YOUR WAY: private two-tank sea day from 11,999 MXN, up to eight air tanks included, with El Cielo included when conditions and the route allow.
  • OPEN WATER: e-learning plus four boat dives over two days.
  • TWILIGHT + NIGHT: one twilight dive and one night dive for certified divers.
